It feels like you are everywhere

Whenever I turn a corner,

I catch a glimpse of your smiling face

Our gazes cross paths and linger

Just a few seconds longer than they should

A few words exchanged shyly,

I am trying hard not to show it

But you intimidate me.

I wish I could get to know you better.

The thing is I feel both at ease

And paralyzed around you.

You impress me somehow –

Your kindness and your smile,

A strong yet gentle presence.

I realize I am yearning for more of you.

***

Purposely without an aim,

I get up and wander about –

Half hoping, half expecting to see you.

A few steps onwards,

I look up and there you are,

Heading up or down.

You address me and I can sense

I am blushing inside – I wonder

If my cheeks are letting you know…

How you make me feel – – You smile.

I melt and my lips mirror yours.

I am hoping those lingering gazes

You are offering are only mine for the taking.

Soon I’ll muster some courage and maybe –

Well that we’ll see…

          4. That sounds like a harsh place to be. Where are you from? (you don’t have to answer if that is too personal) Words are the best way to take you places in the blink of an eye.

          5. Naw it’s Kool… I’m from northwest Baltimore city Maryland USA. What about you… And you don’t have to answer eather if you don’t want. And I agree.. That’s why peoples words mean everything to me. Especially when they keep it you know.

          6. I know what you mean, it is important to keep the promises we make. I have never been to Baltimore. I am sorry it has treated you badly so far. I am from the south of France, originally, a small town called Gap. Right now, though, I live in Thonon Les Bains, France – very close to Geneva, Switzerland.

          7. Very important! That’s how you establish a great relationship and strong bonds. Don’t be sorry… I’m use to all the murder and violence by now. FRANCE! Wow! I would do anything to be able to live there. It must be beautiful.

          8. I definitely agree with you. Building trust is extremely important. France is gorgeous. I live between lake Geneva and the Alps. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen so I feel lucky to be here. Though I miss travelling.

I looked up pictures of Baltimore. It looks beautiful in an urbanised way. People should not have to get used to murder and violence. There is too much of it around the world. I will never be able to understand why. Life is too short to be wasted on tragedy, when there is so much beauty to experience.

          9. Trust me baltimore is only good for tourist. Downtown harbor and other little safe zone places… As the mayor says. And I guess when all you know is poverty and struggling day to day you just don’t care about human life or even your own. But as for me I want to experience all of life’s gems. I’ve always wanted to go to France and eat fresh food and inhale the clean air and etc. But first I got to get out of this hell I’m in first. I really enjoy our convo and I would love to stay in touch. But that’s up to you.

          14. Indeed, France is gorgeous, I hope you will make your way here someday too to witness Europe’s beauties. Meanwhile my experience has shown me that every moment we have is precious. We can’t place our hopes in the future. We have to enjoy every step we take in the present. The present is the only time we live in. I always try and seize the beauty in the little things around me, small acts of kindness, a hello from a stranger here and there, gentle words, genuine smiles, and tiny miracles of life – a bird singing, children playing, parents caring, people hugging, strangers helping each other out.
