Material Witness

Earthy plates crashing,

segments colliding with force,

exerting pressure,

causing mineral

matter to rise and reach out

to the skies, prickling

celestial grounds,

tickling vaporous feet – ore

touch, unsettling,

inciting divine

chuckles. Ethereal laughs

ripple. Aerial

creatures flee, leaving

patterned prints on hallowed land,

where earth grazes air.

  1. That’s a beautiful picture you’ve crafted ☺️. The flow from the violent crashing of plates to the peaceful grazing of the clouds was amazing. I love the image now in my mind of those great greek gods giggling as the earth reaches up tickle their feet, so thanks for that picture. 😆
I was expecting something other than “chuckles” after reading “ore touch, unsettling, inciting divine”. 😄 That twist was perfect ☺️

    P. S. Lucky you, living with those mountainous landscapes so close 😊

    1. I am glad you enjoyed the read! That was exactly the image I had in mind. Earthly rocks reaching so far up they would tickle the feet of Olympian residents.
Yeah, I am lucky to live there. Though there are lots of gorgeous places on earth, Ireland being one of them. Thank you for reading and leaving such amazing feedback 🙂

Such a strong piece from a daily prompt! So good! So good to have the calm landscape of the photograph contrasting the potential catastrophic whims of nature’s forces. There is a sense of slow building pressure as the bird shadows dart every which way. Unsettled I am!

    1. Thank you, D! Your comment is so poetic. I am glad my lines brought about a feeling of strength as you read them. I had the idea before I read the prompt, so it didn’t really bring the piece to existence, the word just flowed its way into my creation. It inserted itself in my thoughts as I was writing.

          6. Haha, I am not much of a boss, I am more of a manager of talents, specialised in teenage building of self. Then again you are right, I should own it, my blog my rules ^^
