Human

Geometric lines
coursing on the ground, housing
temporary guests

firing kerosene
sprouting stems of toxic smoke –
avid conquerors

leaving passing scars
in the skies. We are colons
acting like haughty

kings in a castle,
who could not care less about
the consequences

of our mindless acts.
Indeed we seem to own it
all, yet soon we’ll fall.

It does, more than it needs greed destroying it’s habitats.

This reads like a requiem, but written while there is till a slow pulse for our deteriorating planet. How naive of us to believe that we can continue down this path, with our immortal mindset. What kind of planet are we betrothing to our children?
Because you are empathy personified you remind us of all this in your well chosen words dear lady 💕. Describing the “chemtrails” (some call them contrails) as “passing scars in the sky” is brilliant. With a conglomerate of Haikus also! Ah, I’m an eternal fan 😌

    1. Thank you for your precious reaction my talented friend. I agree with every single one of your words. I wish we could be more grateful and respectful of the gorgeous land we can call home.

I’d like to think that if a few of us do the right thing, that gradually such habits will permeate through our social circles and beyond. I recycle even the smallest item, even when the effort seems out of proportion to the end result.
I’m uncertain how such a ground level approach could penetrate the boardrooms of the corrupt corporations though. Voters choosing like minded politicians ? An uphill battle to be sure, but strength in numbers.
Oh, did you call me talented? ☺️ I like that – shall add it to the patchwork quilt of delightful words you have made for me!
