Soul Lines - Diary of a Soul Writer 
An absolutely beautiful song ❤. The melody is intoxicating, the lyrics are your usual musical artistry and your unique style continues to grow, always complimenting your voice beautifully.
The rap verses even carry your own mark, absolutely amazing if this is just you trying to practice 😉. Your voice softens your words as they flow but there’s still just enough articulation for it all to be comprehensible. It gives them a beautiful, almost playful, tone. I want to hear more of your experimentation now 🙂.
Oh, and did I mention it’s beautiful 😅

It is just me trying to create. It is only a first draft. I had the rhythm of the verse and the melody of the chorus and I just went for it and recorded it. I wish I had more time to practice and make it sound better, but the wait would be too long. Besides, I like sharing first drafts. The raw emotion there is always stronger. When you repeat it over and over again, the voice is more asserted, the musical quality and words intelligibility improve, but you lose the magic of that first instant of creation. Thank you for calling it beautiful ❤ Did I mention I am feeling ecstatic upon reading that?

I completely agree, keep sharing all the first drafts. I won’t have to wait so long either that way 😉. Your ability to send emotions across time and space is astounding, it makes all your artistry special. Everything you write is filled to bursting with your heart and soul. Hearing that in your voice is beautiful (okay, even my phone is predicting me at this point 😅). There’s a love and amazement in you that is engrained in your voice from that “magical instant of creation” that I would never give up. First drafts are the best ❤️

I agree with the Irishdreamwalker, all his comments are spot-on. and yes a lot better recording this time, guitar is quieter and your voice is more audible, but as he said, your voice is soft, you seem to be concentrating on your guitar playing more, rather than your lovely singing voice. Well done Hailie. xx

I did make sure my phone was closer to my mouth than to my guitar. It was my first time singing it fully, I was concentrated on everything at once. 😅😂 singing and playing at the same time and bringing life to words at the same time… is always a lot to handle. You’re so very talented, and your words were beautiful, and you did excellently. And yes I could feel you concentrating, what a bundle of tasks for you to handle all at once. Have you another phone or computer, record your guitar music, then have it playing while you’re singing and record it all again, hope you understand what I’m trying to say. Best of luck. xx

I understand perfectly what you are saying.
I need to practice and learn how to do it all at once as naturally as possible. If I separated the tasks momentarily it would only act as a temporary bandaid. Besides when I create, my guitar and my voice guide each other too. I think what I need mostly is more time to practice ^^ and improve. However if I were to record it in a studio or something, that's probably what I'd have to do.

soulful voice and beautiful haunting words Hailie, how well you write and sing this tat one person can have such an effect on our psyche. i see contradictions and absolutions to make excuses even, for something we want to hold on to but kknow its venom. always a treat to listen to you my dear

I am happy with the way this song sounds too, the guitar intro plunges you in a meditative state and then I start singing and softly rapping. Toxic relationships can be rough to handle, especially when you are like you tend to see the good in people and remember the beautiful moments.
