Rolling Stone

He was living his life sheltered,

Stunned by a series of mis-happennings.

Now running away from chances, perceived as risks,

Unaware that living life fully is worth all the hurt that may come after.

We are made up of strong enough matter to overcome it all.

A hole in a thick sail won’t tear it apart.

You just need to stitch it up, and it will sail as valiantly as ever,

Exhibiting only a sewn-up line marking a souvenir of moments lived.

A flesh photograph of time made scar tissue.

  1. We are being treated today πŸ˜„.
Again, I’m liking the positivity shining through. The need for risks, and the inconsequence of “failure.” Yet for someone who is not accustomed to it, those perceived risks can become paralysed, sleeping through life in a somewhat comfortable, but not wholly awake way.
Well, you’re poetry got me thinking anyway, I don’t think I could ask for much more 😊

    1. Haha indeed you are. I am not climbing mountains or running fiercely, or teaching enthusiastically, so I sat down with a view and scribbled a few lines.
It is important not to let fear prevent you from being alive and biting at the treats life keeps throwing at you.
I am glad I got you thinking. That is all I could hope for πŸ™‚

        1. haha it is all under work still. I am enjoying creating a lot but I need practice to get better at performing. I think we need to step away sometimes from writing and come back to it. It has to come from our hearts and it is okay to want other things to and let ourselves get distracted by life. Your output will be great again when you will be ready πŸ™‚ You have so much talent in you. I have no doubt about it.

Adore your spectacular photo, and it’s spectacular to see you here. Your poem has an insightful message, and these two lines, are special for me,
“A hole in a thick sail won’t tear it apart.
You just need to stitch it up, and it will sail as valiantly as ever,”
I think I’ve stitched a lot of tears in my sail, the old ship is still sailing, listing to one side a bit, but we’ll be fine, and still be able to cross the line….. How are you going, I hope you are keeping well. xx

    1. Thank you for reading and stopping by my dear Ivor πŸ™‚
It is indeed spectacular to see me here. I haven’t been around in a while. I glad to see my friends are still there holding writing at the core of their lives. I have just had a busy summer with family. I have been writing songs more than I have been writing actual lines to be shared on WP. Also doing lots of hikes, hence the spectacular picture featuring here.
You are such a valiant sail, an inspiration to the world, with your giant heart ready to take on the world anytime with your kindness. I hope you are doing well too my dear friend ❀

I shall join the chorus and welcome your splendid words and photograph perfectly matched to the content.
Dear heart, a “flesh photograph of time made scar tissue” is one of your signature memorable phrases that urge the reader to stop at that very moment in their reading.
I join you in your aspirations to embrace life fully whatever the potential risk. It is possible to sway fully secured from the craggy cliffs that span the years … to enjoy the exhilaration and trust that the ropes will never fully let go ❀
